Privacy Policy
Effective September 24, 2026 · Techoclaro LLC
Draft pending attorney review. This text may change before it is final; we will post the new version here with a new effective date.
What personal information Techoclaro collects, why, who helps us process it, and the choices and rights you have. We do not sell your personal information and we do not use advertising trackers.
1. Who we are
Techoclaro is operated by Techoclaro LLC, a Texas limited liability company, 1341 W. Mockingbird Lane, Dallas, TX 75247 (“Techoclaro,” “we,” “us”). This policy covers www.techoclaro.com, our web app, our text messages and emails, and the letters we mail.
Techoclaro is a self-help tool. We are not a law firm and we do not give legal advice. See Not a Law Firm.
Questions about privacy: privacy@techoclaro.com.
2. Information we collect
We collect only what the service needs. By category:
- Account and sign-in. Your email address and/or mobile phone number, an optional display name, and the way you sign in. For passkeys we store the public key and a device label your device provides, never your fingerprint, face or device PIN. For email links and text codes we store only a one-way hash of the link or code, with a short expiration (30 minutes for email links, 10 minutes for text codes). Sessions are stored as a hash of the session token and expire after 12 hours.
- Your case. What you tell us about your situation: the property address, state and county, dates, deadlines, the people and companies involved (for example your lender, servicer, trustee, co-borrowers), your answers to our questions, notes, tasks, reminders, and property-tax account details you choose to enter.
- Documents you upload and their contents. Files such as notices, letters, mortgage papers, photos and scans, with their file name, type, size and a fingerprint (hash) used to detect duplicates. We read the contents to build your case map, deadlines and findings. Documents can contain sensitive information, such as loan numbers or Social Security numbers, so please upload only what you need.
- Credit reports you upload. If you use Credit Health, we read the report you upload or paste. Before anything is stored, our software removes Social Security numbers and full account numbers; we keep only the last four digits of an account number. We store the accounts, balances, dates, payment history, inquiries, and the names, addresses and employers printed on the report (so you can flag errors), plus the disputes, letters and collection cases you create.
- Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. Your full card number never reaches our servers. We keep your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, your plan, invoices and amounts. When you view your billing page we show your card brand, last four digits and expiration date, fetched from Stripe.
- Communications. Emails and texts we send you, your replies, your opt-in and opt-out choices (with when and how you gave them), and delivery records. If you are a professional using our PRO tools, the emails you send and receive through Techoclaro.
- Device and usage information. Our hosting providers receive standard technical data when you visit (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and reliability. Where we record visits ourselves (for example when a letter link or partner link is opened, or a form is submitted) we store a keyed one-way hash of your IP address and browser, not the address itself. See our Cookie & Local Storage Notice.
- Public records used for outreach. Property addresses, sale dates, trustee and lender names and document numbers from public foreclosure and tax-sale notices. See “How we contact homeowners” below.
- Consent and legal records. Your acceptance of our terms and disclosures (including the version and time), and for Credit Health a signed service agreement with a hashed IP address, as the Credit Repair Organizations Act requires.
- Partner and affiliate information. If you apply to be a partner, your organization, contact details, website, promotion plan and payout details. If you arrive through a partner's link, the partner code and the time you first clicked.
- Waitlist. If you ask to be told when we launch in your state, your email address, state and language.
3. How we use information
- To provide the service: build your case map, calculate deadlines, find possible problems in your documents, prepare letters and case files, and send the reminders you ask for.
- To sign you in and keep your account secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and limit repeated requests.
- To mail letters you approve (for example credit dispute or validation letters) and to charge for services you buy.
- To answer your questions and give support. Our staff can open your case to help you only after you give permission in the app, and that permission is recorded.
- To contact homeowners about foreclosure help as described below, and to honor every opt-out.
- To credit partners who referred you, and pay them.
- To keep records the law requires, resolve disputes and enforce our Terms of Service.
- To improve the service using counts and error reports. We do not build advertising profiles about you.
4. AI processing
Some features use Claude, an AI model provided by Anthropic, PBC. When you use them, the information needed for that feature is sent to Anthropic to produce the result:
- Document reader: the image or PDF you choose to have read is sent to Anthropic to transcribe its text.
- Case assistant and questions (“Techy”): your question and a summary of the relevant facts of your case are sent to produce an answer grounded in our legal sources.
- Credit report reading: the text of your credit report is sent only after our software has removed Social Security numbers and full account numbers. You can turn AI reading off; the report is then read by our own rules only.
We keep a record that an AI run happened (which task, which model, timing, and a fingerprint of the input and output), not a copy of your content. AI output can be wrong; always check it against your documents. See our AI Disclosure.
Under Anthropic's commercial API terms, data sent through the API is not used to train Anthropic's models by default, and Anthropic keeps it only for a limited time for safety and abuse monitoring. [Confirm with provider terms.]
5. How we contact homeowners
When a foreclosure or tax-sale notice is published in public records, we may mail one or more letters to the property, addressed “To the homeowner.” We use only the property address and details printed in the public notice.
We do not buy lists, use data brokers or people-search services, or look up names, phone numbers or email addresses of homeowners. We text or email you only after you give us your number or address and opt in.
Each letter carries a personal link code. If you open it, we record that the code was used (with a hashed IP address), so we can show you your letter and stop sending more.
To stop letters to an address, follow the instructions in the letter or see Communications Opt-Out. We keep the address on a do-not-mail list so it stays suppressed.
6. Service providers
We share personal information only with companies that process it for us under contract, and only as needed for their task:
- Supabase — database hosting (our main data store). [Confirm region.]
- Render — hosting for our application servers (United States), including uploaded files.
- Vercel — hosting for our website and web app.
- Stripe — payment processing, invoices and billing portal.
- Resend — sending email (sign-in links, reminders, notices).
- sent.dm — sending and receiving text messages.
- Lob — printing and mailing letters, and verifying mailing addresses.
- Anthropic — AI processing, as described above.
We also share information: with people you invite to your case (for example a family member, housing counselor or attorney), who see what their role allows; with a partner who referred you, limited to the fact that a referral resulted in an account or purchase; when the law requires it (for example a valid subpoena); to protect rights, safety or prevent fraud; and to a successor if Techoclaro is merged or sold, under this policy.
7. No sale, no targeted advertising
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not “share” it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined in California and Texas law. We have not done so in the past 12 months.
Our website has no advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics. Our fonts are served from our own site.
8. Text messages
We send text messages only to numbers whose owners opted in, and we record when and how you opted in. Reply STOP to stop and HELP for help. See SMS Terms.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
Your number and message content are shared only with our messaging provider to deliver the messages.
9. Consent and legal bases
We process your information to provide the service you asked for, with your consent (for example text messages, email reminders, AI-assisted analysis and staff access to your case), to comply with the law, and for our legitimate interests in running a secure, reliable service.
We record each consent with the document version and time. You can withdraw consent at any time in your account or by writing to us; this does not affect processing before you withdrew it, and some features may stop working.
10. How long we keep information
We keep information while your account is open and as long as needed for the purposes above. Some records, such as billing records and our security audit log, are kept longer because the law requires it. Details by category are in our Data Retention & Deletion Policy.
11. Security
We protect information with encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls that check on every request that you are allowed to see a case, hashed sign-in codes and session tokens, passkey sign-in for staff, recorded consent before staff can view a case, and an append-only audit log. Credit reports are scrubbed of Social Security numbers and full account numbers before storage.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and regulators as the law requires. Please keep your email, phone and devices secure.
12. Your rights and choices
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- Access and export your information. In the app, go to Account → Export to download your case data (JSON) and a case-file PDF. For anything not in the export (for example Credit Health data), write to us.
- Correct information. You can edit most case details in the app, and flag errors on a credit report.
- Delete information. You can delete a credit report and everything read from it in the app. To delete your account or other data, email us. Some records we must keep are described in the Data Retention & Deletion Policy.
- Withdraw consent and stop texts (reply STOP), emails (use the unsubscribe link or your account settings) or letters (see Communications Opt-Out).
We will not discriminate against you for using your rights.
13. State privacy rights
Texas. Under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, Texas residents may confirm whether we process their personal data and access it, correct it, delete it, get a portable copy, and opt out of sale, targeted advertising and profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects. We do not sell personal data, do targeted advertising or make such profiling decisions.
California. Under the CCPA as amended by the CPRA, California residents may know what personal information we collect, use and disclose; access, correct and delete it; opt out of sale or sharing (we do neither); limit the use of sensitive personal information (we use it only to provide the service); and not be discriminated against. In the last 12 months we collected the categories listed in “Information we collect”: identifiers, customer records, commercial information (purchases), internet activity (hashed), and sensitive personal information (account login, and financial details on credit reports you upload). We collected them from you, from public records, and from our service providers, used them for the purposes above, and disclosed them only to the service providers listed above for business purposes.
Other states. Residents of other states with privacy laws (for example Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Oregon and others) have similar rights. We honor these requests from all US users, whether or not a law requires it.
Some information, such as credit report data covered by the Fair Credit Reporting Act or information covered by the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, may be exempt from some state laws. We still protect it as described in this policy.
14. How to make a request and appeal
Use the export and delete tools in the app, or email privacy@techoclaro.com from the email on your account (or tell us the phone number you sign in with). You may also write to Techoclaro LLC, Attn: Privacy, 1341 W. Mockingbird Lane, Dallas, TX 75247.
We will confirm your identity using your account before acting, and respond within 45 days. If we need more time (up to another 45 days), we will tell you why. An authorized agent may make a request for you with your signed permission; we may ask you to confirm it.
Appeals. If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision or emailing privacy@techoclaro.com with the subject “Privacy appeal.” We will answer within 60 days and explain our decision. If you are not satisfied, you may contact your state attorney general; Texas residents can file a complaint at texasattorneygeneral.gov.
15. Credit reports (FCRA and GLBA)
We do not pull your credit report. You get it yourself (for example free at AnnualCreditReport.com) and choose to upload it. We use it only to help you review it and prepare the letters you approve, and we do not share it with lenders, collectors or anyone else except as needed to mail a letter you approve.
We are not a consumer reporting agency and we do not furnish information to credit bureaus. We treat the nonpublic financial information you give us with the safeguards expected under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, and we do not share it with non-affiliated companies for their own marketing. See our Credit Services Disclosure.
16. Children
Techoclaro is for adults. It is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child gave us information, contact us and we will delete it.
17. Changes to this policy
We will post any change here with a new effective date. If a change is material, we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect, and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
