Communications & Opt-Out Policy

Effective September 24, 2026 · Techoclaro LLC

Draft pending attorney review. This text may change before it is final; we will post the new version here with a new effective date.

What emails, text messages and letters Techoclaro sends, which ones you can turn off, and how to stop each of them. A request to stop is honored on every channel.

1. Our approach

Techoclaro LLC (“Techoclaro,” “we”) contacts people in three ways: email, text message (SMS) and paper mail. We never make sales calls, we never text or call people we found in public records, and we do not sell or rent contact lists.

You can stop any communication that is not strictly needed to run your account. When you ask us to stop, we stop.

2. Email

Transactional emails are needed to run the service, so they are sent whenever you use the feature that triggers them:

  • sign-in links you request;
  • invitations when someone adds you to a case or an organization;
  • payment receipts and billing notices, including notices required by law for any paid plan or add-on;
  • important notices about your account, security, or changes to our terms.

Optional emails you can turn off at any time:

  • case deadline reminders (turn off in your case’s reminder settings);
  • Credit Health and Collections Defense reminders about letters you sent (these are on by default when you mail a letter, and you can turn them off for any letter or case in the app).

Every optional email tells you how to turn it off. Today Techoclaro does not send marketing or newsletter emails. If we ever do, we will send them only as the law allows, each will include a one-click unsubscribe link, and we will honor an unsubscribe request within 10 business days (usually much sooner).

3. Text messages (SMS)

We text only sign-in codes you ask for and, if you turn them on, case deadline reminders. Reply STOP (or ALTO) to any text to stop immediately. Your withdrawal is recorded the moment your reply reaches us, and no further reminders are sent to that number. Reply HELP (or AYUDA) for help. Message and data rates may apply.

The full rules are in our SMS / Text Messaging Terms.

4. Letters addressed “To the homeowner”

Some homeowners receive a paper letter from us addressed “To the homeowner.” We send these letters only to property addresses that appear in a public foreclosure or tax notice filed in county records. That notice is the only information we use. We do not look up the owner’s name, phone number or email, and we do not keep them. The letter explains free help available (including HUD-approved housing counselors and legal aid) and how Techoclaro works.

How to stop these letters. Use any of these ways:

  • visit techoclaro.com/stop and enter the letter code printed on the letter, or the property address;
  • return the letter unopened, marked “refused”;
  • email privacy@techoclaro.com with the property address (street, city and ZIP code) and the words “do not mail”; or
  • write to Techoclaro LLC, 1341 W. Mockingbird Lane, Dallas, TX 75247.

You do not need to give your name. We only need the property address.

What happens next. We add the address to our do-not-mail list. That list is checked before any letter is approved and again right before it is sent, and it also applies if a new public notice for the same address appears later. A request through the /stop page takes effect for new letters immediately. A request by email or mail is processed within 10 business days. A letter that was already printed and handed to the postal service before your request was processed may still arrive; nothing after it will.

If the property changes hands and the new owner wants to receive information, they can contact us and we will review the request. We do not remove an address from the do-not-mail list on our own.

5. Do-not-contact requests

If you tell us, in any way, that you do not want to hear from us (by replying STOP, by using the /stop page, by email, or by letter), we honor it on every channel we could use to reach you about the same thing. A do-not-mail request for a property also ends any other outreach about that property. A STOP reply ends all reminders to that phone number.

Some messages cannot be turned off while you keep an account, because they are needed to run it or are required by law (for example, sign-in links you request, receipts, and legal notices about a paid service you use). If you want those to stop too, you can close your account; see our Data Retention Policy for what happens to your information.

We keep a record of each opt-in and opt-out (what, when and how) so we can prove we honored it. We keep the address on the do-not-mail list even after other records are deleted, because deleting it would mean we might mail that address again.

6. Messages from professionals

If you work with an attorney or organization that uses Techoclaro PRO, that professional may email you through our tools about your matter. Those messages come from the professional, not from Techoclaro. To stop them, tell the professional directly. See our PRO Terms.

7. Questions

Email privacy@techoclaro.com or write to Techoclaro LLC, 1341 W. Mockingbird Lane, Dallas, TX 75247. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle the information in these requests.
