Techoclaro is a self-help tool, not a company that negotiates with your lender. We are not the government or your lender, we cannot promise your loan will change or that a sale will stop, and free help is available from HUD-approved housing counselors at 1-800-569-4287.
1. Who we are — and who we are not
Techoclaro LLC is not associated with the government, and our service is not approved by the government or your lender. We are a private company in Dallas, Texas. We are not HUD, the FHA, the VA, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, a court, or a housing counseling agency, and we do not work for your lender, servicer or anyone collecting your debt.
Even if you use our service, your lender may not agree to change your loan. Whether a lender or servicer offers a loan modification, forbearance, repayment plan, short sale or any other option is its decision, under its rules and the law.
2. What Techoclaro does
Techoclaro is a self-help tool. It reads the papers you upload, shows the deadlines that apply under the law, explains your options in plain language, and helps you prepare your own letters and forms. You decide what to do and what to send.
We do not negotiate with your lender or servicer for you. We do not contact your lender or servicer on your behalf, except to mail a letter you wrote and approved when you ask us to mail it. We do not charge any fee for obtaining, negotiating or arranging a loan modification, forbearance, short sale, or any other change to your loan, and no Techoclaro fee depends on the outcome of your case.
What you pay for, if anything, is access to software tools and features, at the price shown before you buy. The foreclosure case tools are free. See our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
3. Your choices
You may stop doing business with us at any time. You can stop using Techoclaro, cancel a paid plan, or close your account whenever you want.
You may accept or reject any offer your lender or servicer makes. Techoclaro will never accept or reject an offer for you. If you want advice on whether to accept an offer, talk to a HUD-approved housing counselor or a lawyer.
You can talk to your lender or servicer at any time. We will never tell you not to contact your lender, your servicer, a housing counselor or a lawyer.
4. No promises
We cannot and do not promise that you will keep your home, that a foreclosure sale will be stopped or postponed, that your loan will be modified, that your payments will go down, or that you will win any dispute or case. When the law and your documents give you no defense, we tell you so and show you the real options instead.
Deadlines and findings in Techoclaro come from the law and from your own documents. They can be wrong if a document is missing or unclear, so check them against your papers, and ask a counselor or lawyer when in doubt.
5. Do not stop paying on our advice
Techoclaro never advises you to stop paying your mortgage. If you stop paying your mortgage, you could lose your home and damage your credit rating. Anyone who tells you to stop paying your lender and pay them instead is a warning sign of a scam.
Also be careful of anyone who asks for a fee before doing any work, asks you to sign over your deed, or promises to save your home. Report mortgage relief scams to the Federal Trade Commission or the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
6. Free help from a HUD-approved housing counselor
HUD-approved housing counseling agencies help homeowners at no cost or low cost, including with talking to a servicer and applying for help to avoid foreclosure. Call HUD’s housing counseling line at 1-800-569-4287 or visit hud.gov/findacounselor.
Legal aid organizations may also help at no cost if you qualify. Find one at LawHelp.org or, in Texas, TexasLawHelp.org. See our Legal Information Disclaimer.
